Paintball is an exciting sport and above all paintball is fun! It’s a chance to shake off your day-to-day responsibilities and rekindle your spirit of adventure. Not only is paintball fun, it’s also a great way to get some exercise and to bond with your friends or co-workers. If you’ve never played a paintball game before, there are a few things you should know. Namely, that paintball requires specific equipment, such as goggles, markers (or paintball guns), pressurized gas, and paintballs. 

The paintball gun you choose can make a big difference in whether you win or lose. Make sure to select one that is manageable and not too heavy. Remember that you’ll be running around carrying it. Something that weighs a couple pounds off the field may feel like 10 pounds after you’ve sprinted around the field. A paintball gun can range from a hundred dollars to several hundred dollars. Paintballs are sold at a price between $35.00 and $55.00 a box depending on the brand of balls. 

You’ll also need safety equipment. A helmet is a good idea. Goggles are imperative, since the last thing you want is to be hit in the eye with a high-speed paintball. Protective pads worn under your clothing is also a good idea. These pads will reduce the pain of getting hit with a paintball and will minimize the odds that you wake up sore the next day.

You can buy all of this equipment or you can rent it from an organized paintball field. If this is your first time playing paintball, it’s a good idea to use an organized field. These fields usually have employees that will help you select your equipment and familiarize you and your team about the rules and etiquette of playing paintball.

You should always remember that paintball is a team sport. A game cannot be won or lost by individuals.  Have fun and don’t take it too seriously!
